Metronome
Keep time with an audible click and a visual beat indicator.
30–240 beats per minute, in whole numbers.
Ready at 100 BPM.
How to use this metronome
Practice with an audible click, a visual clicker, or both. Settings run locally and are not saved.
- Choose a whole-number tempo from 30 to 240 BPM. The default is 100 BPM.
- Choose 1–8 beats per bar. The first beat has a higher click; choose 1 for no accent.
- Select Start or Stop. Uncheck Sound on for silent practice. Changing tempo or beats per bar restarts the count at beat 1.
Timing and example
The beat interval is 60 divided by BPM, in seconds. At 120 BPM, beats are 0.5 seconds apart and a four-beat bar lasts 2 seconds. Beats per bar changes the count, not the tempo.
Limits
One click per beat, without subdivisions. Sound requires Web Audio support and an enabled audio output. The visual indicator depends on screen refresh and browser scheduling and may lag the audio. Playback stops when the tab is hidden. Use a comfortable volume. No microphone access is needed.
